OUR TECHNOLOGIES

WIMAX
WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a family of wireless communications standards designed to provide 30 to 40 megabit-per-second data rates, and up to 1 gigabit-per-second with the 2011 update for fixed wireless. You may be asking yourself why this is important. The reason this is important is that by utilizing licensed broadband solutions we can provide reliable broadband to consumers much more inexpesively than tranditional Internet connections. NC Broadband utilizes WiMAX and LTE (Long Term Evolution) also known at 4G/LTE to provide broadband to underutilized and rural locations near our hub networks. Because of the long range of the WiMAX signals we can install an access point that provides 30 miles of coverage eliminating the expensive fiber optic deployments, long and costly cable runs for leased lines and telco circuits needed to bring dedicated broadband services to areas with only dialup or DSL service. This same network also provides VOIP and Cable Television to areas that do not currently have cable providers and rely on satellite for TV services. Utilizing WiMAX allows us to inexpensively provide Cable like TV services to areas without coverage for less than the cost of satellite TV.
